I swear I’ve forgotten how hot it can get. I used to love basking in the sun when I was younger, but I’m becoming more of a shade dweller with every year that passes by.
It doesn’t help that over the past several years I’ve spent the majority of my days in an office with the air conditioning on full blast. I think most women would agree that a freezing office is basically the equivalent of stepping outside into a blizzard in the middle of winter.
I recently switched over to freelance writing so that I can spend more time with my baby, and being out in the heat again has hit me like a brick wall. I can’t stop thinking that if it’s this miserable for me, I can only imagine how uncomfortable it is for my little 3-month old.
The hardest part is that since he’s younger than 6 months, he’s unable to wear sunscreen this summer. This means if we’re outside, he has to be covered or in the shade at all times. I didn’t think it would be that big of a deal at first, but the shade isn’t always easy to come by, so we often end up keeping him in the stroller with the canopy up. While it works for sun protection, I worry that he’s going to overheat.
While strolling through Buy Buy Baby one day I saw a stroller fan on sale, so I picked it up to give it a try. I was so hopeful that it’d offer some much-needed relief for my little guy, but unfortunately, it was a dud. It touts being quiet, but you can hardly feel any air from it.
That’s why I was so excited to try the Gazeled fan. At first glance, I knew it was going to be better than the cheap one I picked up because it’s much more sturdy. I quickly took it out of the box to try it myself, and I’m pleased to report that it blows about 10 times more air than the flimsy one I had purchased.
After giving the Gazeled fan a try myself, I was excited to try it out on the stroller. I packed up the car and headed to my parent’s neighborhood for a stroll around the lake. When it came to set up, it was really easy. All I had to do was clip it to the sidebar and make sure it was facing him.
He loved it, and for the first time in a while, he made it through our walk without getting fussy. I think the combination of the airflow from the Gazeled fan plus the white noise is just what he needed.
Now that I’ve tried it, I’d love to get another fan for myself too. I could easily clip another one to the other side of the stroller, but face it towards myself. You can also easily clip it to other places as well.
I started thinking about other places this fan could be useful, and my first thought was the bathroom counter while I’m getting ready. Please tell me I’m not the only postpartum mom who starts sweating buckets the one time a week they decide to blow dry their hair and put makeup on…
You can honestly take your Gazeled fan with you anywhere. You can clip it to the top of your bed at night, the treadmill while you’re running at the gym, the car seat, the kitchen while you’re cooking, and more.
Having tried another portable fan, I can honestly say the Gazeled fan is high quality and worth every penny. Whether you’re trying to keep your baby cool this summer, or trying to keep cool yourself, this fan will give you that much-needed relief you’re seeking.
