Drool, chewing, and fussing, oh my! Teething is no joke. It started for our little guy a few weeks ago, and it has been non-stop drooling and chewing on his hands ever since.
The opportunity to put these teethers to the test couldn’t have come at a better time. They’ve provided some much-needed relief for him, and they’ve relived some stress for mama too. I know it’s part of his development, but his chewing on his hands isn’t my favorite thing. I feel like he’s going to gnaw a finger off.
All of the teethers are BPA free, which is important to me, and the manufactures definitely had parents in mind when they made these teethers dishwasher safe. It makes life so much easier.
Each of the teethers is great in my book, but there are different things I loved about them. Here’s a breakdown.
Como Tomo Silicone Teether:
I’ll be honest, when I first saw the Como Tomo Silicone Teether, I was a little skeptical. For some reason, the shape and texture didn’t seem appealing to me. However, my son thought differently! He loved it from the second I put it in his hands. The ring provides a handle for him to hold, and he enjoys rotating the prongs along his gums. Come to find out, these prongs are meant to mimic baby fingers. I’ve quickly become a huge fan of this teether.
Baby Banana Infant Toothbrush:
I was excited to try the Baby Banana Infant Toothbrush because my niece who’s a year older than my son has it and loves it. When I gave it to him, he chewed on it as he would any other teether, but at four months, he’s still trying to figure out how to hold onto it and get the bristles in his mouth. That being said, I think this teether is going to be essential for him as he gets older. I like that it acts like a toothbrush and can help me teach him to get into the habit at a young age.
Baby Banana Octo-Teether:
At first glance, I didn’t realize that this teether also acts like a toothbrush, similar to the banana. Once I realized this, it made me like this teether even more. I think that this toothbrush is a little easier for him to get the hang of at this age, as it has the bristles on both sides. The handles also seem to be a little bigger, which makes it easier for him to grab onto.
Buzzy Bee Teether:
The Buzzy Bee Teether gets extra points for cuteness. My son seems to like the bright color as well. I also like that there are various textures. The size is nice too. It’s on the smaller side and you can easily attach it to a pacifier clip. He’s at the stage where he’s starting to toss things and expects me to pick them up, so this little hack saves me.
Baby Elefun Teething Toy:
Elephants are my favorite animals, so I’m personally a fan of this teether. I’m not the only one though. My son loves it. It has a hole in the middle, which makes it easy for him to hold onto. It also has ridges and bumps throughout the teether that he loves rubbing on his gums.
I can honestly say I have loved every single one of these teethers. I think it mainly comes down to how old your baby is and their personality. For example, my baby won’t take a pacifier so his hands are constantly in his mouth. This makes the Como Tomo the perfect solution for us with its finger-like prongs.
